The AJD house bed: queue imagination overload!

Since the inception of  A Jolie Design Inc. The company “muse” has always been my children. My world as an adult revolves around them and this company has allowed me to provide for my girls while also being the full time mom in their lives that I want to be (no matter how crazy it drives me) I am so very thankful for this role.

About 6 months ago I was asked by a friend to help with her nursery/kids room. I gladly took on the opportunity, and she sent me children bed options that she liked. The beds were fashioned to resemble a house frame with the actual mattress as a base. The more I researched the product (that I could only find overseas) the more I became concerned about the stability and structure of them.

The house beds looked beautiful, but I was worried how the beds would hold up with a toddler swinging from them (having a toddler myself, I knew this was a possibility). I showed the beds to a carpenter AJD work with and he confirmed that there was no way to be sure the sturdiness without testing the product.

At the time this was all taking place, I was also looking to “update” by daughters rooms and move them in together, since they slept together anyway (except they slept together in my bed…like with my husband and I …Like NOT in their own rooms, I think they call it co-sleeping except we didn’t sign up for that…okay I was trying to get them out my bed!).

I decided to create the beds myself, so we started with the prototype and created the “demos” in a way that my girls could use them (should they come out sturdy enough to swing from). In creating A Jolie Design’s own version of this house bed there were a few things that were important to me. I wanted the beds to be functional, stable, beautiful and fun for the girls to display their own personalities while being in the same room.

I designed the beds with two separate features/options. Bed one has three storage drawers underneath for clothing, toys or books, and bed two has a trundle bed, perfect for overnight guests and a space for mom or dad during goodnight reading. The beds came out better then I could have imagined and the girls have been happily playing, sleeping (sometimes) and designing their little spaces. Their room also has two ceiling to floor chalk walls so that their space can become whatever backdrop they would like for their beds as their imaginations run wild together.

The A Jolie Design, Inc. House Beds are my greatest accomplishment in business thus far. I am beyond proud of these custom designed children’s house beds. We are rolling them out here in Broward County, Florida!  With a nation wide rollout soon. I am also elated that my girls love them and cannot wait for your kids to have the same joy!

The beds have another amazing feature that will be released soon! I like to call this “Imagination Overload” and I cannot wait to share this feature with the world!
