I have found over the years that I am at my best when I have to perform under pressure. Under pressure for a designer is a short turn around to make a space come together. This week in the world of A Jolie Design, I will be putting together a nursery room, while the mother to be is at her baby shower. The instructions I received are the colors the mother to be would prefer:

I also received a rough sketch of the room:

Off to work I went, knowing that I wanted to create a unique space, using the things they have and adding only what was necessary to make a home for their new bundle of joy. The parent to be, also wanted the room to have a safari esq theme. All of my information is coming from the doting grandmother to be, who is ecstatic about the arrival of little Princess Noel.

Okay so we have it: lilac, mint, gray, safari nursery. Using all the existing furniture in the room.

My first executive decision was to add a pop of pink…

Here we have my designer color pallet for our overnight nursery. I call this room the “overnight nursery” because that is literally the time I get to make this happen. The couple will leave the night before the baby shower to stay with family, unknowing that I will be putting together the space in time for their arrival home. The only added thing that will add to creating this nursery is that we cannot paint the walls.

Off to pull this together…I will document the process and hopefully you all like what you see at the end…Wish me luck…
