Design by fire – 72 hours to get the job done

Hello, my name is Justine and I work well in chaos!

Yes I believe that pressure makes diamonds, the second part to this saying has to be, but make sure you have what diamonds are made of. I feel that I work so well under pressure because I live design.

Our last project, was for a returning client who was relocating to Atlanta. The conversations went something like this…

AJD: Hello X Thank you for choosing A Jolie Design, let’s start with a look book to get an idea of the feel for you new home, room by room…

Client: …no need, we will just get everything once you arrive…

The chills that went down my spine as I read this. I love this client, we work well together but WHAT! How could we possibly do that?!?! I mean in South Florida I can make that happen, I can shop local showrooms that know us, I can buy off the floor, I can get this done! But in Atlanta, I am familiar with America’s Mart and a handful of go to’s that don’t know AJD all that well, at all.

Enter….Design by Fire…

I arrived in ATL late on a Wednesday, I literally hit the ground running…like in a full on 100 meter sprint.

We shopped until we dropped Thursday all day, looking only for places where we could purchase for insta-delivery

(I made this up…but you know what I mean) I needed all furniture purchases by Friday to install on Friday, we were painting Friday morning so after that of course. The job had to be finished Saturday by 2pm the latest. Sound like fire yet?

After this project I realized some of us work better under pressure, and I am one of those people.
