This room is in a setting that I like to call imagination overload! Two of the 4 walls are completely chalk paint from floor to ceiling. Allowing the girls to turn their space into whatever they want. Since the beds where installed a year ago, the room has been, a forest, a princess land, a graffiti wall for all friends and family and a study area for the girls to practice sight words and ABC’s alike.
In the last 6 months however, their walls became a place of remembrance. When the girls learned they were going to have a baby brother (while playing a baseball game with their parents) They both happily asked if the pictures from the gender reveal could be printed and placed on their walls. Around the pictures they wrote messages to their baby brother in anticipation of his arrival. Unfortunately, their brother developed a heart condition and passed away. The girls kept the pictures on the wall for months as a way to remember him.
I had to find a way to keep this memory alive and with the help of Craft Cuts we did just that! We added clouds to their blue walls in the place of the pictures and Craft Cuts came up with the idea to add string for a rainbow.
When I started this project, I did not know what the girls needed, or what I could do to help them through this time and create a happy place, the rainbow was the perfect answer.
We finally added their custom made turf grass area rug and a wood grain night stand as their indoor/outdoor tree, bringing together their rooms themed look! Completed with their tree leaf chandler special ordered from Dubai!
It came together perfectly! And the girls are happily sharing the space with friends and loving their self named “Aaron’s rainbow” name clouds that they sleep under at night.
