Let me just say, I’m new to giving older/existing furniture a “face lift” I’m better at shop and place furniture. Well at least I thought I was, but as I explore getting the look I want while staying within budget, I’ve found that refurbishing furniture can be the way to go.

It’s no longer something that requires a trip to the oh so industrial Home Depot. A lot of smaller DIY stores carry everything you need at the right price. As a bonus you can usually find more bespoke items at these smaller DIY stores as well.

This month, I’m giving an older dresser a little “pick me up”. I came across some knobs at my favorite DIY shop Hobby Lobby! I decided to try one knob just in case it didn’t quite fit or match the look I was going for. A day later I was back to purchase the rest (pictured below). In my experience it can be the smallest thing that makes all the difference in a rooms style.

I’m now sanding & painting a few pieces, we’ll see how those come out! But in the meantime saving money and refurbishing furniture seems to be the way to go to get the look you want at the best price. It just requires a little vision and some elbow grease.

Happy Creating
