Making Holiday Memories

Spreading-holiday-cheer

I was just jumping into the pool with my daughter.

We were just grilling and hanging out waiting for the fireworks to start to celebrate the 4th. It is December? December!!!! As in hang the lights, put up the tree, shop, travel, decorate, plan, party, go to party, take pictures, bake cookies, make ginger bread houses, wrap presents, place the elf wait.. find the elf!! DECEMBER!

Oh it is and we are just two short weeks away from Christmas day! I wanted to blog about ways to decorate your home balancing children’s fun and elegant holiday decor. For those of us with little ones it becomes a somewhat daunting task to have both, but there are certainly ways! In our home I try to stick with a simple strategy to keep a balance. I would love to share it with you all but I’m sure all of your decorations are up and you are now into the fun phase of the holidays (all around) crazy.

In Lou of tips and tricks, all the way from sunny south Florida, I want to send out a quick reminder to live in the moment. I myself am knee deep in Holiday crazy. Just today I noticed that taped to my laptop is a picture of my daughters with Santa last year. I cannot help but to look at the picture and wonder…where did the time go. It is Christmas again and these little ones seem to have grown so much! I have decided to drink hot cocco, get fuzzy socks, watch holiday movies and craft until their hearts content for the rest of the month. Our children are only young for a short time and I think its more important to build memories with/for them, then to get lost in the holiday crazy!

So off I go to purchase a 4 pack of fuzzy socks and tonight we shall build our Frozen themed ginger bread house…that I got at Michaels (it is so cute…hopefully it comes out like it looks on the box!)

God Bless

J
