NEW FRAMES OOOOOO THE POSSIBILITIES!
July 21, 2013

I would like to take a moment (on this rainy Tuesday) to tip my hat to the awesome fathers out there! Father’s Day I spent some time reflecting on the impact my father has had, and continues to have on my life. He is still my main man, and as an adult he has become my best friend. As a kid he taught me and my siblings everything from camping to cars, and at the time nothing ever felt like a drilled in life lesson.

Gone are the days that I would get up to my Dad walking through my room to wake me up for school yelling “Gym Man” as he went to work out. That has now been replaced by a phone call every morning to discuss the day’s events as if we are close enough to meet up for lunch (even though we live thousands of miles apart.)  My daughter knows that her “SuperPa” (he named himself that) lives in New Jersey (he just so happens to be visiting us this week though :-))  but they sing the ORIGINAL Mickey Mouse song together every day and face time as they can. It is great to watch them interact, knowing that they are building they’re very own bond.

Aidan and her Dad also have the cutest relationship. She is well aware at 3 of what she can bamboozle him out of and it’s hilarious to watch the two of them in action! I could not be more thankful for their relationship; he is hands on and completely in love with our daughter. Even though I sometimes get a little jel jel (not going to lie) of the fact that he is the more “fun/playful” parent, I know that it is his role and he plays it well.

As I “play” with social media, I love to see all the photos of Dads with their children. I know I often times reflect only on my experiences as a mother but I do know that Dads are JUST as if not MORE involved as moms out there! So this is my short and sweet shout out to the AWESOME Dads I know!  My Dad (of course) Aidan’s Dad, Jamal W, James O, Mario M,Timmy S, Orren T, Lawrence B, Fritz J & the countless others….You all ROCK! Keep teaching our little ones to grow in love!
