Mastitis: My Pregnancy Story

My Aidan. She has been asking me for a baby for at least two years. She even came to me one day and told me exactly how to get this baby…eat a lot of food, get fat…and the baby will peal out of my stomach….yes this is a true story. That was about a year and a half ago, and clearly…I ate enough food.

Aidan seems to be very well prepared for this sibling. She asks that everything for the baby goes in her room. She wanted to make the baby presents and she has informed everyone that she will be changing all number 2 diapers (score for me).

mother-and-daughter-momentWith all her excitement I cannot help but worry. How will it really be, she has been the center of my world for 4 years, how will she (how will I) adjust to having two centers. Everyone tells me it will all work out. I will do my very best to keep our morning school routine, Friday night pizza, and attend the ever popular tea parties. I’m sure she will be an awesome big sister, I just refuse for her to feel left out in it all.

When I had Aidan I bought a gift for her Dad wrapped it up and packed it away for our trip to the hospital…a daddy tool belt. This time around, I will be doing the same but will be adding something for my very special soon to be oldest daughter. After a lot of consideration I purchased Aidan her very own little baby (though she has a lot of dolls…this is a “newborn”) complete with bottles and diapers to change, she can practice on her new dolly all the things she wants to do to help mommy.

Here’s to hoping all goes well & here’s to finding patience for us all during our transition…especially my little girl, Aidan.
