Family Holiday Photo (Crazy)

As most families do during the holiday season, my family and I took to the (internet lol) in search of a place to do our family photo. I went to our usual Target Photo Studio’s website only to find that it had been closed. Surprised, I went to the next best thing…Sears or JC Penny’s studios but nothing came up in our area.

Frustrated I Googled “Holiday Portrait Studios” and came up with Portrait Innovations. I booked an appointment for their “beat the rush” Holiday Photo Sale (54 portraits for $12.99) at 7:40AM on a Sunday. Yes, I admit…7:40AM was not a good choice, but it was the only appointment left. I woke up late that morning, rushed us all to get dressed, looked everywhere for my daughters too cute black shoes (that are always around and mysteriously disappeared…still haven’t found them) and got in the car complete with an “I have to do everything for this family” attitude. Can you see how well this is going?

Upon arriving at the studio, 15 minutes late for our appointment, I noticed that there was a fun (super annoying) group of maybe 6 families with the same appointment, so everyone was “beating the rush”. We waited for about 30 minutes, it wasn’t that painful, there was a Lego table for the kiddo’s (win) and it was too early for Starbucks to be open (epic loss).

Here is my reason for sharing this story; apparently a lot of photo studios have closed down. There are very limited Target, Sears, JC Penny Studio’s that exist anymore. Don’t wait too long to book your families photo AND be on time for your appointment. I will highly recommend Portrait Innovations (if there is one in your area). You can wait for your pictures and take them with you the same day! My only Mommy advice is (besides the obvious… pack your patience) if you print a coupon, stick with that and gear up all (paying) adults involved so that you don’t end up buying into “deals” that you didn’t originally want i.e $12.99 going in verses the $89.99 packet we left with (sigh…they are some great photos)

Happy Picture Taking!!!!
